Memory
Def: The ability of an organism to record information about things or events with the facility of recalling them later at will.
Memory is the faculty by which the brain encodes, stores, and retrieves information. It is a record of experience that guides future action.
Rehearsal: Repetition of an item in short-term memory in order to store it in long-term memory. Generally without repetition, memory is hardly formed!
Although I am still learning this information, I can testify that memory can indeed be improved through ridiculous associations.
Joshua 1:8 - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Repetition is the mother of learning. By affirmatively declaring what you desire to see in your life, you will behold sooner or later.
How can you develop your memory?
There are many ways you can develop memory, some simple and others very long and complicated. One of the best way is to find a tested and proven technique and use it to your advantage. Among the various ways I've come across, Ron White's training made sense and is easy to apply. You can check out his training course here: GreatestMemoryCourse

Perception
Perception refers to the way sensory information is organised, interpreted, and consciously experienced. Perceptions are built from sensory input, how we interpret those sensations is influenced by our available knowledge, our experiences, and our thoughts
Num 13:33

How do you perceive yourself? What is your perception about 2021? Who are you allowing to shape how you perceive yourself?
Will the goals you have set for yourself help you discover more of who you can become or will they be a repetition of previous results?
